Nice and affordable seafood at Kuala Selangor

 

 

The first dish to arrive on the table was the fried tofu, the outer layer of the tofu is golden color. The first bite of the tofu was statisfying as the tofu's outer layer is crispy and the tofu's inside is soft. The tofu came with a small plate of sweet, sour and spicy sauce.After such a delicious appertizer, we had a dish of stir fried vegetable. However, I personally found it kind of salty which may not suit customer with high blood pressure. 

 

 

The place

It was another boring Saturday, my friends and I had decided to go to Kuala Selangor to have seafood for our dinner which we had planned for months. From Kuala Lumpur,  we drove about 1 hour with our national pride vehicle to reach there.

 


The restaurant is called "Kedai Steamboat Kampung" and located near the Jabatan Timbang Kuala Selangor. It is just about 3 km after passing the Jabatan Timbang Kuala Selangor. We reached the place at 7:00pm and there were a lot of tables available but things changed after 7:30pm. The place became crowded and a lot of people started to come in.

 


 

 

The food
We had ordered 6 dishes from the friendly waitress after she introduced so many kind of seafood to us. The dishes list as below:-

 

1) pucuk ubi - RM5
2) crab - RM45
3) fish - RM25
4) fried tofu - RM8
5) siput sedut - RM6
6) fried prawn - RM9

We were then served the steam fish with blended ginger sauce. The fish is very fresh as the taste is sweet and soft, with the combination of the fraganted ginger sauce taste a bit like tomyam. After that the crab is served together with buns. The crab looks very spicy in red and yellowish color, however when we taste the crab, it taste sweet and sour with little bit of spicy. The crab's meat is white and fresh.
